This agricultural production plays a dual societal role, first supplying a specific market responding to demand for organic products by consumers and by providing other public goods that contribute to environmental protection. The Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DGADR) is the entity that establishes the principles, technical guidelines and standards required for organic production.
